Preventing Unneccessary InfoSec Spending
Two true customer advocates, Adam and Magnus are known to always advise in the Client’s best interest. Not always a strategy for short term benefit, but certainly the best strategy for long term, Win-Win relationships.
With a dedication to prevent spending that provides little to no benefit, 2020 InfoSec can help save as much as 50% of your InfoSec budget. Take a look at the InfoSec Utilization Audit
A Graduate from Sheridan College as an Electronic Engineering Technologist and Masters of Science in Information Technology, from the University of Liverpool, Adam spent most of the 90’s with Honeywell / AlliedSignal Aerospace. Already of the mindset to reduce spending, he saved the company $250K in his first year, by re-structuring a scheduled upgrade plan.
Large-Scale (1000-2000 nodes) Disaster Recovery Plans, Migrations, Network Implementations, LAN/WAN Architecture and a complete re-structure of the IT Team are but a few of the projects successfully completed.
As the first employee at Access 2 Networks, (Later re-branded as A2N) Adam developed internal technical systems and processes to ready the company for growth.
In addition to Creating the company’s first ticketing/Support system, Developing and teaching courses for CheckPoint, Nokia, Cisco and Shiva, Adam also taught the manufacturer’s curriculums, structured the Test-Plan, Implemented Technologies for Customers and Designed a Secure Perimeter for one of the world’s largest banks, attaining zero downtime maintenance, and high availability.
Some of the Products Adam acquired Expertise and Certifications in include: CheckPoint, IronPort, Fortinet, Cisco, TippingPoint, F5, RadWare, StoneGate, Juniper, McAfee, Caymas, BlueCoat, FireEye, SonicWall, Aruba Networks, Palo Alto, Corero, RSA and Qualys.
A Founding Partner with Source 44 Consulting, Adam continued his excellent track record providing InfoSec Technologies and Services including:
- Eliminated multiple layers of security appliances to create simpler and more effective security for a large government client.
- Eliminated internal audit findings by creating and implementing security best practices for a major health care provider
- Planned and implemented upgrade of 45 customer firewalls with no unscheduled downtime, on scope, time and budget
By the end of the 90s Magnus Joined Robert Herjavec at BRAK Systems (Later sold to AT&T). Magnus filled a key role at Brak and AT&T introducing Checkpoint’s InfoSec Solutions to Strategic Verticals and Major Accounts. AT&T Canada became AllStream in the early 2000s which was later sold to MTS which in turn is now owned by Bell
Along with two other Executives from BRAK/AT&T, Magnus was recruited by Deloitte & Touche to draft the blueprint for their InfoSec Practice.
Magnus spent the remainder of the decade in a key role with Access 2 Networks, (A2N) where he successfully structured a market driven sales-culture contributing to over 800% growth over the next five years.
A2N’s Customer-Centered approach and desire to prioritize the Customer’s best interest suited Magnus so well it became the longest tenure of his career at just shy of 10 years.
As his last major undertaking at A2N, Magnus built their Managed Services Infrastucture, including the physical Security Operations Centre, Scope of Services, S.L.A.s, Service Portfolio and Collateral.
